Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.com Review
Drawing on the success of her first book, Creating Sacred Space with Feng Shui, Karen Kingston has met popular demand by expanding on the indispensable activity of clearing clutter. There is very little of actual Feng Shui here, and certainly nothing you can't get elsewhere, but the clutter problem gets full and complete treatment. Kingston reminds us that clutter is stuck energy that keeps you stuck in undesirable life patterns. Therefore, you can "sort out your life by sorting out your junk." Kingston covers the reasons we keep things as well as the amazing stories of people who have cleared their clutter away. More than just junk, clutter is all those things that have negative symbology and that collect stagnant energy. This latter can also apply to bodily, emotional, and spiritual clutter, all of which Kingston describes with characteristic passion. In an age of accumulation, it's good to see a book that frees up life again.

4 out of 5 stars Ignore the Hocus-Pocus, there IS some great stuff here.   December 22, 2008
Buttercup (Orange County, CA)
OK, I agree with all the critiques about the new-agey part of this tome. It's pretty over-the-top. I just ignored those parts of the book.

But where I think Karen gets it right is in her insights into why we have a clutter problem and why we should do something about it. Those that pan the book comment that it is too simplistic. Well, heck, it's not rocket-science that we shouldn't have too much stuff for our space and that things should have a place and we should put them there after we use them. Hello! It's motivation we need. And, yes, perhaps some practical tips.

For me, Karen nailed the movtivation. She made me see that clutter-free is possible, and more importantly, that it's essential for me to live the life I want.

This book is filled with ideas on space clearing and why you need to do it. It also dives into clearing the body and inner self of clutter. This is a really great book!

5 out of 5 stars Awesome clutter clearing ideas!   November 23, 2008
Barbara Tako, Speaker & Author of Clutter Clearing Choices (Stillwater, MN USA)
This is one of my favorite books on clutter clearing. Very readable in small manageable chapters and topic sections. The author's ideas about room flow, space, and energy make intuitive sense and are easy to apply. Ideas are both pragmatic and thoughtful. I learned to "see" clutter I had been missing and to think about some of the consequences of clutter that I hadn't considered before! This book also addresses the sometimes neglected topics of mental, emotional, and spiritual clutter.

5 out of 5 stars Useful again and again!   November 20, 2008
K. Dietrich (West Chester, PA, USA)
I have had this book for about 2 years , and I have referred to it often. I didn't know much about Feng Shui before I got it, but I did know about clutter! The simple, common sense instructions and definition of clutter helped me focus on the real issues and see more clearly where I could make improvements. Clearing Clutter is a process. It takes awareness and practice, and with this book I have learned skills that I have been able to pass along to my kids.
